It's not so surprising Swan Library has been in operation for 108 years. With knowledgeable staff, and a first rate collection of books, magazines, audio/video, microfilm and a special Civil War collection, containing original publications, we are your destination for all things knowledge.


Our Children's Department is filled to the ceiling with books. You will find board books, Spanish and other foreign language books, bridge books, novels, book series, large non-fiction collection and activity kits. Ask our friendly and helpful staff to assist you in finding that perfect book.


Swan's Reference Library is also second to none. Our extremely qualified, and experienced, reference librarians are always willing to help you with all of your reference needs. Whether looking for a long lost relative, curious about local history, or in need of a particular manual, Swan is ready to serve you!

The Swan Library, 4 North Main Street, Albion, New York, was built in 1851 as a residence for the Burrows family. The mansion was converted into a library and chartered in 1900. The library currently has 18 staff members. Including all three floors, the library occupies 6,000 square feet of never ending adventures.
